I've come a long way
I started this journey a long time ago. I have fought weight issues most of my life. As a young girl I was active and therefore thin, but I still always had thick thighs and a bubble butt. That shape is quite popular now, but as a kid I hated it.
My size really became an issue after the birth of my kids. I had already been struggling with extra pounds because I was not as active as in my younger years. But, weight wasn't my only issue. I was unknowingly fighting with depression. I found it difficult to do the things I used to enjoy like hiking, riding a bicycle or just going for walks.
It wasn't until after the birth of my second son when I found myself sitting in the tub crying with the shower beating down on, me wishing someone would comfort me and at the same time ashamed, hoping no one could see me, that I sought help. It took years to find the right anti-depressant and dosage. By then, my marriage was over and I was still fat.
I tried dieting, I tried exercising and sometimes I even did both at the same time. :) It work a little, but never lasted for long. I even had lap-band surgery in a desperate attempt to be thinner. Honestly, I was looking for an easy fix. I wanted to be thin again without the effort like when I was a kid. Guess what? Nothing worked, not long term until a friend of a friend reached out to me and introduced me to Exogenous Ketones by Pruvit. I will tell you more about my experience with these ketones in my next blog entry. For now, keep reading for more of my story, the background.
Ketones are produced by the body naturally when you eat a very strict, low carb diet. Did I mention that I had already tried all the diets? HA! Low carb was no exception. Of course, I had tried it! I lasted less than an hour before I was craving candy. As a person with impulse control issues (read: no self-control), I had a pile of candy wrappers on my desk shortly after those cravings started. To make matters worse, I don't like cooking, and back then, you had to cook to stay on a low carb diet that wasn't just raw veggies and protein shakes. In fact, I am not even sure low-carb protein shakes existed back then. Certainly none that tasted good. It is still difficult to live a low carb lifestyle without cooking, but I am getting a little better.
Want to know another secret? I also don't like exercising. Okay, okay, that's not such a secret. LOL! Anyone who knows me, knows this. However, over the years, I have learned that this is something I need to learn to like or at the very least tolerate if I want to be healthy.
Here I am, a year into my journey with Ketones. I started a size 16 and weighed 198lbs. I am now an 8-10 and weigh 157lbs. I still don't cook as much as I should and I definitely don't exercise like I should, but I now know what works for me and will continue to explore all my options and build on what works.
This blog isn't a sales pitch. Although, I will share business links on occasion for products that I sell, or products others sell, it isn't to drum up business as much as to make it easier for you to get the products I use if you want to try them. Some items I have tried and stopped using, others I still use. I will ALWAYS tell you the truth of my experience. What works for me, may not work for you. What works for someone else, may not work for me. We are all unique. My hope is that we my experiences and story will give you hope to keep trying. Keep pushing for better because I truly believe that eventually, we all find it. I hope you will join me for the journey.
